Being watchful in prayer.

Devote yourselves to prayer,

being watchful and thankful.

Colossians 4:2

How much of my prayer life misses the mark because I'm the one doing all the talking? Being watchful means being quiet, attentive, careful. Listening. Waiting. Observing. This verse reminds me that when I do "speak" I should be spending a good majority of it in praise and thankfulness for God's overflowing cup of blessings.
