Fall Term, Week Two, Day Two

I find it interesting how differently each day runs from the next. Yesterday it took us a full day to get everything in. After math and handwriting, which we do together first thing, I had to do some juggling. Makenna finished up before lunch and I had to work in Maddie after lunch while Charlie napped. I let Maddie and Maya play with Play-Doh while I read and it worked out fairly well. I didn't consider this before, but I let them know that if they're not listening while they're playing they we'll have to put the Play-Doh away. Extra incentive.

Overall, I'm fairly happy with how things are running. Although we have a few details to work in when we get things under control, and I’d like to do some more reading from Charlotte Mason's original writings (especially on training the attention, for Maddie's sake, as well as mine), and I need to do some thinking about how to get them outside more, things are going about as well as I could expect, maybe even better.
