We were on our own today as Steve had to go in early this morning. And I’m glad to say we actually made it through the day and accomplished most of our objectives. I will confess that I let PBS entertain Charlie for an hour while I finished up with Maddie. But there are worse things than PBS, I guess. For lunch we took a picnic to “the woods” and I let the kids run around and get dirty. They enjoyed exploring (within eyesight) and examining each tree to see which held the best possibility for climbing. This was such a nice clearing by Mill Creek in complete cover of old, tall trees; we enjoyed nature’s air conditioning in the heat of the day under total shade. A few of us came home with multiple bug bites. I’m certain that someone will end up with poison ivy.
