Today marks our first full day of studies for the fall term. And my first full day with four students. M2 can read all her own texts! Which is a wonderful blessing we've been working towards for three years! I'm thankful because my throat is fried from reading with C and M2. Here is what I read to them today:
To C
"How the Whale Got His Throat" from Kipling's Just So Stories
Aesop's "Belling the Cat" (which he "got")
Our Island Story, Chapter One "The Stories of Albion and Brutus"
To everyone at lunch:
Proverbs 1:1-7
To M3:
Our Island Story, Chapter XII The Story of the Field of Cloth of Gold
Parables from Nature, "Lesson of Faith"
Leonardo Da Vinci, second half of first chapter
And this is little C doing his first Alpha lesson, Math-U-See:
