I'm cheating a little with my selection this month.
Steve and I gave up sugar (pop, desserts, etc) for lent and we've decided to continue though the rest of April with a goal of continuing though the year. Like Easter Sunday, we'll take a one-day hiatus for Charlie's birthday (can anyone say "homemade chocolate sheet cake"?), Thanksgiving, and Christmas days.
I can't tell you how much better I feel because of just this one little change. I've lost an undetermined amount of weight (we own no bathroom scale since my husband decided it was in the best interest of my mental health to pitch it), and I really don't miss the sweets anymore. I figure the big test was today as Lent is over and there are three different types of homemade cookies, Graeters chocolate chip ice cream, and pound cake in my kitchen right now--not to mention all that candy from the Easter egg hunt yesterday. If I can get through today resisting all my favorites, I can do it!
For those who know me well, I'll tell you I refused to allow Steve to bring home Dr. Pepper for Easter day. I was sure I wouldn't be able to stop drinking it once I started again. There is no such thing as just one drink.

Keep it up! Let me know how it goes!
Since when is Charlie's birthday in April? I thought he was the July baby...
We just plan a temporary hiatus for his birthday which is still in July. Thanksgiving will be in November and Christmas in December again this year. ;-)
I get it, I just missed the comma (that I am pretty sure is new) after Sunday.
