This is a picture of Steve's paternal great grandparents (if I've got that correct). Aren't they magnificent?

Family Tree
Something that I have in mind to accomplish is to work on our Family Trees. My dad did a lot of research of his lineage and left a file full of notes and charts. My mother has a chest packed with pictures chronicling her family line. I dream of scanning and labeling all these family pictures, collecting their stories, and making a record of all our various and dubious branches of heredity for all the kids to have. I wonder often about taking a month out of the year and making our Family Tree a school project where we visit family, gather stories, copy pictures and trace names, places, and events as far as our families can remember. Then perhaps digging a little further and searching court records, newspaper archives, and the like.

what does the pennant say? I can only see "Buckeye"...not that's not enough!
I can't really see it here, but I had the impression that it said Buckeye Lake. Which, my MIL could confirm, is the area that Steve's dad's family is from.
How neat! Go through those pictures now...we didn't, and now no one knows the people in the pictures. So sad.
The girls will no doubt be bitten by your enthusiam. What a great way to teach local history! (Among other things)
