"Madie K"

Lately, Madison’s drawings include a good deal more detail. Although this poor girl has no arms, what she does have is an elaborately drawn dress and the cutest heart-shaped nose. At the top of the picture Madison printed: “Madie K.” Including the “K” is a throwback from kindergarten when she had to include the initial to differentiate between the other Madison in her class. She still does this for me, 8 months later, lest I get her confused with another Madison. This is the first time I’ve seen her refer to herself as “Madie.”
