
It's hard to preserve your dignity when (1) A vital part of your anatomy has been removed, without your prior written permission, and (2) You have to wear a satellite dish around your neck for an indeterminate amount of time. He does try to maintain his grandeur as best he can.

After a week, he has made peace with the collar, figured out how to rest comfortably, can maneuver through a room without crashing into EVERYTHING, and has stopped ramming us with the collar when he wants a little attention -- all just in time to take it off.
